They then have to be forced underground for a very long time, all the way until Frisk arrives.

So what needs to happen? There has to be a war between humans and monsters. So on second thought, it might not be every monster.īasically, no matter what changes we end up making, they cant be something that will dramatically change the timeline. The only reason that I can think of at the moment why they wouldn't want this is because it might erase their own existence as well. If the war could be prevented, I would actually assume that just about any monster would opt for preventing it. My guess is that she (along with quite a few others) would opt for that option, even if it would mean dramatically altering the timeline. We can't choose to not try to prevent the war (regardless of whether or not we actually would be able to do so) if Toriel is part of the process/knows about the plan. Even if Asriel is born at all, it will probably not be at the same time, and thus it wont really be him. They will go on and have children, and this will dramatically alter the timeline. (well, it might be considerable, but only as a last resort) As terrible as this sounds, if the war never occurs, it will mean that a whole TON of monsters that would have been killed will survive. In one case, Frisk will never be there to remind Asriel what it feels like to be able to feel, and the other case Asriel isn't alive in the first place. So if our endgame is for Asriel and Frisk to survive, along with all the other monsters, and to survive on the surface, we can't make any changes in the past that will lead to Asriel and/or Frisk not being born. So, I think that I should start out with what we can't do, and then move on to actually looking to see if what is left can help make this work. The question is, do we still consider this a viable solution if it means that Frisk and Asriel don't grow up together? (Note: I may have a way around this, I talk about it at the bottom.)

So if Asriel doesn't die at the time that he normally does, then he may be fully grown or even have lived his full life by the time Frisk falls.

One thing that I want to note is that, as far as I can tell, a very long time passed from when Chara fell to when Frisk fell. Back to the changing history approach (still need a better name for this, but its getting there at least)
